What are Instagram Highlights?
If you didn’t know by now, an Instagram Story disappears after 24 hours. However, an Instagram Story Highlight allows you to save some of your stories directly onto your profile. The best part? They don’t go away unless you remove them.
Highlights are located under your Instagram bio and can be separated into different categories. Meaning, when posting a new story you can instantly save it on a Highlight, or you can add previously made stories into a Highlight from your archive.
Since the Instagram algorithm rewards interactions, having Highlights on your profile allow another way for you current followers and visitors to continue to interact with a story.
Why should you create Highlights?
They allow you to showcase different parts of your business
Your branding can instantly be recognized with themed thumbnails
They allow you to tell an ongoing story
For example, Start to Finish on 123 Main St. listing
Another way to encourage visitors to follow you
You can showcase your services in a categorized way and also use links to redirect traffic
Allows you to save well produced content rather than it being deleted in 24 hours
How do you create a Highlight?
You have two options to create a Highlight:
Create a Highlight from a new story by posting a story and manually saving it to a Highlight
Create a Highlight from an archived story by selecting a story from your archive folder and adding it to a Highlight.
Note: You must turn on your Archive option in order to save and add stories to a highlight. We recommend turning this option on now so you can start populating stories into your archive.
