Stories alone don’t get you far when it comes to turning leads into clients. What does, however, is communicating your stories through social media.

Here are some creative ways to use social media to tell your story.

Remember, think of your four “macro pillars” and the different stories that resonate.

Show Your Brand’s Human Side

People connect with people. If you want to connect with your audience, show your personal side. Things you can share: what you’re doing, what you’re learning, behind the scenes. Remember, social media isn’t your diary. If it doesn’t support your pillars, don’t post it.

Share The Story of Your Brand

People don’t buy into brands, rather the buy into the story behind the brand. What is your brand? Reinforce what/who you stand for, therefore, also making it known what/who you stand for. Branding is more than a logo. What do people say about your brand/culture/team/office when you’re not there?

Work Narratives Into Your Posts

What’s the best way to tell a story? Tell a story. Use Facebook to create “mini blogs”. Use Instagram to talk about what you’re thinking about, what you’re feeling, etc. Sequence tweets to continue the story and don’t worry about too many posts. A great story is always that, a great story.

Incorporate Story Elements

Don’t overthink how to tell a story. Remember, a story has a beginning, middle and end. Just like an Instagram story that is broken up, you don’t have to fit an entire story (whether it’s personal, brand, community or real estate) into one post.
